Almost there...

So I hope I can offer you a Christmas surprise...the new book is almost finished! I still have to check for mistakes, and then prepare it for publishing in the different formats, but I think it should be ready soon. (I'm also having someone read it to check for mistakes which makes me nervous because of the story and what they'll think. She's a good friend but still!)

What I can tell you:

The title is Living the Braced Fantasy and that's also what the story is about, so I hope that makes you curious and interested!

It's not the really big project I've been working on for such a long time but instead it's a book that tries to give readers what they want. So I took your answers to the reader's survey and tried to write a story around that which covered a lot of what you want to read about. (I think it's a good story too)

It's about 200 pages long.

And Cecilia from Bracing Times with Cecilia plays a small role in it. But she's not the main character.

I hope to update with the good news that the book is available soon!

That's great news! I'll buy it as soon as it's available - it'll be an excellent Christmas gift to myself!

Good luck with your proof reader. I suspect that's going to be slightly awkward if she's unaware of the "braces underground." I have noticed a few typos here and there (I actually edit copy as part of my job) in previous books. They don't detract much from the stories, but using a proof reader is always a good idea since none of us are perfect.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new book!

Glad you're excited! I hope other readers are too.

The proof reading is tough - no matter how often I go over the pages, or even how many eyes I get to look them over, typos still manage to slip through. But I think the copy looks pretty clean this time.

Yes, copy editing is tough! I'd be out of a job if it wasn't. I'm about halfway through the book now, and am thoroughly enjoying it thus far. I'll post reviews on Amazon and bracesforum.net once I'm done. Is the book available in German? The readership at that forum is largely German.

Incidentally, I'm also rereading Hugo's "Les Miserables" at the same time. It certainly makes for an interesting contrast!

I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying it. I hope you like the rest too (even though the book and Sally's time in braces have to come to an end...). Thanks for reviewing it too. It's really great for people to see what a reader thinks about it, I think.

None of the books are available in German but I really should look into seeing whether I can get some of them translated.
