"A Bracing Life" in print at Amazon

A Bracing Life: The Dr. Samantha Wrighting Interview has been available in print from Lulu already, but now it's also available at Amazon and all the foreign Amazons - UK and Canada and Germany and so on. Nobody really seems very interested in print editions, which kind of surprises me, but I thought you'd like to know. I know it's more expensive, but it looks really good and I know sometimes I like reading real books more than reading on my Kindle and iPad. And I like that shelf of Intraoral Press books I have! Thoiugh of course as the author I would say that, wouldn't I?

The American Amazon even offers it at a small discount - $13.38 instead of the list price of $14.95!

Of course I don't care whether you read my books as ebooks or in print - I'm just real happy that you're reading them...and I hope more of you will, too!

I initially bought three books from you via Lulu. They do look nice, I admit, if a little girly for a man's taste. :)

But then I got a Kindle! Not only is the gratification instant and the price lower, but I think one other thing is sometimes missed. This was actually brought up by my wife shortly after we got our Kindles and I "gifted" her a copy of Living the Braced Fantasy: no one can see what you're reading with an e-book.

She's right. Let's be honest, sitting on a plane/train/at the pub reading something with "Erotic Orthodontic Encounter" on the cover might raise some eyebrows. But you have a Kindle or iPad or whatever in hand and no one has a clue. I've read that something similar happened with the "50 Shades" series of books. Women can read them anywhere when using an electronic device, and no one looks at them askance for reading a BDSM mommy-porn book.

I realize that the new book isn't an erotica novel, but I'm curious as to how well it will do in Germany, since it seems like a large portion of the braces-fetish community seems based there. I do appreciate the kid-glove treatment the new book gives to folks who "sexualize braces."

I totally get all that, especially the reading in public! With these books it's being the author that makes me like the print versions more, too, since they're something more substantial and real in a way than the ebooks. It's cool to have them on my bookshelf! But not too prominently displayed either I have to admit, since I'm not sure I could explain them to lots of visitors.

But I am surprised that so few people buy the print copies - some people still read in the privacy of their own homes, and I like to think some of these are books people like to return to too.

No takers in Germany yet - print or ebook -but I hope it catches on! I hope they all catch on....

So how are sales with the new book? Do you find the erotica series sells better or worse than the more "vanilla" books?

Newer titles sell a bit better but otherwise interest seems really uniform. There's definitely no breakout title yet either. Maybe the selection is now big enough that all the different kinds of readers find what suits them, or maybe my readers are just eager to read anything which has to do with braces....
