I'm still working on my latest book and I really like how it's going. I hope I can share it with you soon. But I'm glad to see other people are writing books that involve braces too, and a new one just came out: F.N.Brown's The Illumination of Frances Harmon, which has a nice site and which you can get on Kindle at the American Amazon, or Amazon in the UK.
I've just read the sample text at Amazon and this sounds a lot different from what I have been doing, but I'm sure some of my readers will be interested in this too.
And what a great idea to have that book trailer!
I haven't come across any other new books in which braces play a big role recently, but I'm always looking!

Almost summer
Memorial Day means it's almost summer, even if we don't get to really celebrate that here. But it is one of those bank holidays here too, so we sort of get to pretend....
Time flies so crazily. I can't believe it's been so long since I posted anything. For a long time I wasn't making much progress on the new book either, but now it's going really well. But the book has also gotten bigger and more ambitious than originally planned, so it's taking longer too. But I am convinced this will be a summer book - that you'll get to read it while it's really hot outside. There is always stuff that gets in the way of completing it, but I don't think there are too many obstacles left ahead of me!
Thanks for being patient!

Fan Mail
I love hearing stuff like this! A new reader writes that her roommate gave her Retainer Girl for Christmas as a joke – a college freshman, she still wears her retainers at night. Now she writes to say how much she liked it and that she’s already moved on to Love and Braces - and that she wishes she’d discovered these when she had braces! I know not all the books are appropriate for kids with braces but I think a lot of them are right for more mature teens and it’s great to hear from readers who get something out of them like this one is!

Have some Bracing Daydreams!
Yes, the new book is here! Bracing Daydreams! Currently it's only available as an ebook, which you can get in the ePub format at Lulu or on Kindle at any of the Amazons - like the US Amazon, the UK Amazon, the German Amazon.
It's about 113 pages long (43,000 words) and the way I describe it is:
For now it's only available as an ebook because it is part of a bigger project - but I might package it with the other 'shorts' for a print edition before I finish that. (But not many of you buy the print editions, so I guess there's no rush.)
I hope you like it!
It's about 113 pages long (43,000 words) and the way I describe it is:
Like so many girls, Pamela's daughter Emma had braces - reminding Pamela of her own braced years, and inspiring her with visions of both what the experience was actually like and what it could have been. Alternating between Pamela's account of her daughter's experiences and the daydreams she has of reliving it herself, much more intensely, Bracing Daydreams captures so much of what it's like to be a girl with braces.
Because of some mature and complex content, Bracing Daydreams may not be appropriate for younger readers or those who have not yet undergone orthodontic treatment. This is another book about the experience of having braces - and since there's some fantasy and since it's Dr.Wrighting some of it is more extreme than the usual orthodontic experience. Not very much sex (I know some of you want more of that...) but I think it's a pretty sensual book. (And don't worry, another Erotic Orthodontic Encounter is coming!)

New year countdown
I hope all my readers had a great Christmas and New Years! Mine were great - in part thanks to you too, because the Intraoral Press books did really well over the holidays season. Lots of new readers! Welcome, and I hope you enjoyed the books! (And I hope some of you review them too, at Amazon or Goodreads and so on....)
Anyway, I wanted to let you all know that the new book is on its way. There are a few more finishing touches and editing and formatting to do, but Bracing Daydreams should be available soon.
I'm also excited because there's more coming. The Bracing Daydreams project is a slightly larger one, and you'll see what that means soon, and beyond that I am already working on the next Dr.Wrighting book - and it's for the Erotic Orthodontic Encounters series! You haven't gotten one of those in a while, and I really like the idea I've come up for it.
I hope you're looking forward to all this, and that you continue to enjoy my books throughout 2014!

Season's Greetings
So of course I promised too much when I thought I could get the new book finished in time for Christmas. Because it's...Christmas, and I forgot how much else there is to do in the weeks before then! The good news is that the book is going well. It's even pretty close to finished, but I still have to work it over a bit and with the editing and everything I don't want to rush things. So it will be a 2014 publication. But hopefully very early in 2014!
But I will let you in on the title; Bracing Daydreams. And there will be a twist or two to the publication of the book.
I hope all my readers have a Merry Christmas - and that some new readers get some Intraoral Press books as presents!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope all my readers had a great Thanksgiving. That's one of the toughest days of the year not to be back in America, since it's impossible to recreate most of that here. But missing Black Friday is ok!
There is a new book on the horizon! A smaller one - not sure whether it'll just be 'short' yet - but I hope I can fix it up well in time as a Christmas treat for my readers. (I'm sort of glad I didn't (or won't...) quite finish it in November, since I don't want to be just another author who tried "National Novel Writing Month" but it sort of feels like I participated because after a long time of not being able to get a lot of writing done I've been doing well this month. But this is just one smaller project. The bigger ones are still going to take longer.)
Hope you're having good turkey leftovers!

Popular transformations
This book Popular: Vintage Wisdom for the Modern Geek, which is coming out in a few months, sounds like it might be fun. And the teen author Maya Van Wagenen looks appropriately geeky on the book Facebook page:
Yay, braces !
Now it turns out that she has a movie deal for the book already too, with Dreamworks (that sounds like a really big deal). That's really great - but I was really disappointed to see that all of a sudden she looks like this:
No glasses, no braces, no retainer! I guess it's great that she made that transformation from geeky young teen with braces and glasses to a pretty miss whose main accessory is a pearl necklace, but I wonder about the message it sends too. I mean, I haven't read the book but just looking at the pictures it's hard not to think that maybe she became more popular by ditching the glasses and especially the braces and looking normal instead of all wired-up freaky. So it's great that she's still using the old picture on the Facebook page and that readers are greeted by that, but I guess I wish she hadn't left that stage behind her so quickly. Like maybe at least be wearing a retainer in the new picture - a leftover touch of the geeky girl!
And will read the book when it comes out. I wonder if braces play a part in her story!

Fall update
I can't believe how quickly the summer flew by. And I didn't even post anything when we were visiting home on holiday and now it's already back to school time.
I have been busy but not busy enough. I am still working on my big project, and there are a couple of others too. I know I should just concentrate on one at a time, but each one has its own special appeal and some days I'm more in the mood for one, some days for another.
But I hope readers are exploring the Dr.Wrighting books they haven't read yet - there are a lot to choose from after all - and I promise there will be more.
I hope all my readers had a great summer.

"A Bracing Life" in print at Amazon
A Bracing Life: The Dr. Samantha Wrighting Interview has been available in print from Lulu already, but now it's also available at Amazon and all the foreign Amazons - UK and Canada and Germany and so on. Nobody really seems very interested in print editions, which kind of surprises me, but I thought you'd like to know. I know it's more expensive, but it looks really good and I know sometimes I like reading real books more than reading on my Kindle and iPad. And I like that shelf of Intraoral Press books I have! Thoiugh of course as the author I would say that, wouldn't I?
The American Amazon even offers it at a small discount - $13.38 instead of the list price of $14.95!
Of course I don't care whether you read my books as ebooks or in print - I'm just real happy that you're reading them...and I hope more of you will, too!
